RED WINE

REINTERPRETATION OF A MEDIEVAL DOUBLE FAMILY HOUSE IN ALBOGASIO, LAKE OF LUGANO, ITALY, 1994.

the client wished to have wide open spaces allowing to move and live freely while respecting the structure and history of the building.

the two parts of the house are interpreted as two natures, architecturally consolidated by the vertical gap. the spatial interaction determines their relation differently on each level of the house. whereas the lower parts rest "separated", the upper ones spatially join together across the gap, offering a more intimate atmosphere.
